What is CUP? We are a small group of progressives working in the Champaign Urbana area to support other progressives. Since forming in 2017, we’ve participated actively in local political campaigns as well as offering a set of services to other groups. Many of these are decribed on the web site but include a Progressive Calendar, Facebook group, Progressive Drop-ins, and Directories of Progressive Organizations.
Why we started: CUP was formed in response to the growth of progressive activities since the November 2016 presidential election.
The CUP Mission: Our mission is to support local progressive organizations, particularly many of the grassroots organizations active since 2016.
CUP Goals:
- Offer services useful to the progressive community. Currently we offer calendars and directories.
- Help progressives connect with each other and with the public. We’re interested in helping progressives share news, volunteers and other connections.
- Participate in local activism. We are members of multiple progressive groups.
