Future Energy Conversation in Mattoon

The Future Energy Jobs Act (FEJA), which passed with strong bipartisan support in 2016, positioned Illinois to become a clean energy leader. Now, it’s up to us to make sure that the quality jobs, more affordable energy, and economic opportunities created by this Act are brought to Coles County.

To explore the ways Coles County can share in the benefits of the Future Energy Jobs Act, the people who brought you the recent Power Our Planet event are hosting a “Future Energy Conversation” co-facilitated by the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition, the group behind the FEJA. Not only can the ICJC guide us, they are poised to contribute to future legislation and will be soliciting input from us at this event to help them craft that legislation.

This event is part of the ICJC’s “Listen. Lead. Share.” initiative, and feedback will be combined with similar events around the state to help the ICJC form a plan to move forward. Our Future Energy Conversation will be held on Monday, October 22nd, from 6-8 pm (reception at 5:30 pm) at Sarah Bush Lincoln’s Education Center, 1000 Health Center Dr, Mattoon.

We welcome you to be part of our Future Energy Conversation and
1) learn how Coles County can benefit from a clean energy economy
2) have a voice in determining Illinois’ future energy and jobs policies

Let’s strengthen our economy by bringing Coles County into the future. Let’s make our community a leader in the race to produce innovative, safe, and clean energy. Let’s look forward, and create a future that benefits all of us.
