Immigrant Welcome Awards Ceremony and Celebration

Come celebrate the diversity of cultures that make up our community with an afternoon of food, music, art projects for children, and special guests. The 5th Annual Immigrant Welcome Awards Ceremony recognizes the contributions of individuals and organizations that have created a welcoming atmosphere for immigrants in the Champaign-Urbana community. The event is Saturday, September 22, 3:30 – 5:00 at the Urbana Free Library.

This year’s ceremony includes a performance by Ballet Folklorico Mitotiani, a local dance group that shares traditional dances from different regions of Mexico.

After the Awards Ceremony, the celebration moves across the street to Stango Cuisine for delicious food, socializing and music. All events (including the catered reception at Stango Cuisine) are free and open to the public.
