Move to Amend, the national campaign to end Corporate Personhood and get big money out of politics, in collaboration with the Social Action Committee, invites you to a community presentation on the topic of challenging corporate rule and creating authentic democracy. The presentation is Monday, September 24 at 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at: Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana-Champaign, 309 W Green St, Urbana, IL 61801.
Greg Coleridge, the Outreach Director of Move to Amend, will give a historical overview of how 132 years of Supreme Court rulings have bestowed corporations with constitutional rights. He will then address how we can mobilize locally to overturn this trend and pass a 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to end corporate personhood. Community members will present in conjunction with Greg on the intersection of corporate rule and the local issues they work to overcome. This will be followed by a facilitated discussion and Q&A.
