On Monday February 18, there will be a local Presidents’ Day Rally to protest the declaration of a national emergency. Here’s information from the Facebook announcement:
At 3 pm we’ll meet up at the Champaign Public Library in the Robeson Rooms (First floor) where we’ll have a line up of about 6-8 speakers made up of host, co-hosts and local community members. From there we will march down Green St. to Neil St. to the Champaign Municipal Building. If you have time constraints or mobility concerns, you can park or drive along the route and honk when you see us coming. Share your support in however you can. Bring signs, your friends, warm clothes and your sense of solidarity. We hope to see you there!
Here is a list of speakers:
- Diane Ore- Bend the Arc
- Ben Meuller- CU FAIR
- Clarissa Torres- Puerto Rico RSO
- Adani Sanchez- Champaign County Young Democrats
- Brian Dolinar- Champaign Urbana Independent Media Center
Partners include:
- CU FAIR

Since the rally is indoors, seating is limited. Come early. We are hoping to be able to livestream it also.
