One advantage of local elections is that it can be easier to meet the candidates face to face. The April 2 Champaign Municipal Election is fast approaching, so here’s an opportunity: All candidates running for office in the April 2 Municipal Election are invited to a meet-and-greet and educational event on March 9, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Urbana Free Library.
For the educational part of the event, they will review all the seats up for election, responsibilities of these elected officials, and how you can become involved. This review will be followed by a short introduction from all of your candidates as well as an opportunity to learn more about them, their reasons for running, and their vision for our community during the meet & greet session.
CU Indivisible and The People’s Agenda are teaming up to host this event. They have invited all candidates for park district commissioner and board of education. They will keep this list updated as candidates confirm their attendance.
More information at the Facebook event.
See you there, Urbana residents!
