Illinois Poor People’s Campaign in Chicago on June 18

Six weeks of moral fusion direct action will culminate with a 6pm solidarity rally and march with the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless starting at the former tent city site at Wilson & Lake Shore Drive on Monday, June 18, The interfaith justice revival will follow at 7pm at People’s Church of Chicago (941 W Lawrence), where we will recognize those who participated in direct actions in Springfield, send off a delegation to the national rally in DC, and launch our voter activation campaign.  Rami Nashashibi of Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN) and others will speak; there will be music, and much more… We hope to fill all 1200 seats at People’s Church, and to live stream the revival on Facebook Live!

This announcement was summarized from the Facebook event which has more details on location, parking and access.

This event continues the actions in earlier weeks in May and June of the Illinois Poor People’s campaign. For background on those events, see our previous posts here, here here and here.
