Sometimes it’s nice to relax with other progressive-minded folks. Not a meeting, no agenda, just talk and visit. If this sounds appealing, there are two opportunities coming up in July.
First is the “Prairie Group Happy Hour” at Destihl on Thursday, July 12, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. It’s sponsored by the Prairie Group of the Sierra Club. Here’s the invite: “Kick back & relax with fellow environmentalists at the next Prairie Group Happy Hour! This time around we’ll try the 2nd Thursday of each month, starting in July. Second is the Progressive Drop-In, sponsored by CUP and Bend the Arc: CU. We just had the sixth Progressive Drop-In at Jupiter’s where about 12 people stopped by for conversation and connection. The next Drop-In is set for Monday, July 16, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm at the Esquire Lounge, 106 N. Walnut, in downtown Champaign. Drop-Ins are held 1-2 times a month, some around noon and some around 5 o’clock. We vary the day and place to acccomodate different schedules. CUP (Champaign Urbana Progressives)
