Families Belong Together: Champaign-Urbana Rally

Will there be a rally in CU on June 30, when hundreds of rallies will protest the child separations from parenters at the border?  Until today, the answer was No, none planned. Please attend the Building the Blue Wave event instead.”  Now we have a new answer.  Yes, there will be a rally in CU. Here are the details, provided by the sponsors.
The event will take place on Saturday, June 30, 1:00 pm  – 2:00 pm, with a walk from the Champaign Public Library to the intersection of Green and Neil (map)

The Trump administration’s cruel immigration policies have separated children from their parents, rejected refugees, and destroyed lives. Congressman Rodney Davis has refused to act to fix these policies, instead choosing to play politics and shamefully using imprisoned children as hostages and bargaining chips.
Residents of the Champaign-Urbana area are rallying for immigrant families to be reunited — we demand an end to these horrific policies! Join us at the Champaign library and march with us to the intersection of Green and Neil. Bring signs and be prepared for hot weather! We will begin gathering at the Champaign Public library at 12:45. The march will begin at 1 pm. We will be at the intersection of Green and Neil holding up signs at 1:15. Conditions permitting, we plan to march north on Neil.

The march will be immediately following the People’s Agenda’s “Building the Blue Wave” event, which is in the Robeson A&B Rooms in the Champaign library from 10:30-12:30. You can find more info and sign up to attend here:
